I made my first ever Handmade Christmas Wreath with pinecones, a fun and creative way to bring natural and festive elements into my home. You do not need to buy them, just collected the pinecones from the neighbourhood, they come in various sizes and I was amazed by how big some of them were (the ones in the shop are usually tiny and uniform in size).
Before I could use them for the decor, I had to treat them to make them clean and bug-free. This was a simple process
I handpicked around 40 of them for one wreath and use white vinegar and water to bath them (to remove dirt and bugs - trust me, they hide really well inside), I got them soaked in the solutions for hours and hours before rinsed with water, just to get rid of the vinegary smell and quick dry with a towel. Then, I placed them on a baking sheet, the pine cone scales are now closed, but will open beautifully as they dry. I left the pinecone in the oven for a few hours and kept them rotate until they were completely dried. Before you know it, your home will be filled with a lovely wintery pine scent that made me feel cozy and festive. And, most importantly, the pinecones are fluffy and ready for crafting!

To create the magical pinecone wreath, you will need:
A wreath form: this can be a wire, twig, foam, or straw wreath, for me, I bought a straw wreath as base.
Pinecones: you will need about 40 pinecones of different sizes and shapes.
Colour spray: I got a gold coloured spray to mix and match with the natural ones to create some contrast and variety
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Ribbon (optional): you can use a ribbon to make a bow or a hanger for your wreath.
Other embellishments (optional): you can add some extra decorations to your pinecone wreath, such as berries, flowers, ornaments, lights, or paint.
