Modern Boho Wreath that you cannot resist

I started making wreaths years ago, and my first ever wreath was made with pinecones. Since then, every Christmas I would like to experiment wreath making with different types of materials, and last year I have fallen in love with dried flowers. Dried flowers are perfect for creating Modern Boho Wreaths because they have a timeless charm and a rustic appeal that suit the bohemian vibe. Dried flowers also come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors, and textures that allow you to create unique and eye-catching arrangements.

However, making Modern Boho Wreaths with dried flowers is not as easy as it seems. There are some challenges that you need to overcome to achieve the desired look and effect. One of the most difficult aspects is the selection and arrangement of dried flowers. You need to choose flowers that complement each other and create a harmonious balance of colors and styles. You also need to ensure that the dried flowers are secured and have a hard stem which can stay steady on the wreath base. Otherwise, they might fall off or shift over time.

Earthy tones are great for boho style, add a bit of red to make them pop!

• Banksia - because of the size and colour, they are great for centrepiece.

• Bunny Tails - one of the most popular and boho style flower

• Eucalyptus - the subtle green goes very well with either light or dark shades flowers

• Hypericum - great filler, and comes in various colour

• Ming Fern / Pampas Grass - totally different texture, gives a fuller arrangement because of the fluffiness

• Fern - comes in various colour, the most commonly used is white for my wreaths. The unique curved patterns which makes them stand out in the wreath.

• Rice Flower - cute little bunch of blossoms, great filler

• Ruscus - small and pointed leaves, great filler

To make a boho style wreath, you will need:

1. Wreath base: You can use a circular wire wreath frame or a grapevine wreath as the base for your boho wreath.

2. Foliage and dried flowers: Eucalyptus, ferns, etc are good options to create a natural and bohemian look. Whereas earthy tones flowers such as sunflowers, daisies, or wildflowers are great options to add a pop of color to your wreath.

3. Floral wire: Instead of hot glue gun, I used floral wire to attach the foliage, flowers, ribbons, and trinkets to the wreath base securely.

4. Scissors: Prepare a pair of garden scissors to trim the foliage, flowers (some of the stems are real hard).

5. Optional: Bohemian style Ribbons, Fabrics, Beads, feathers and Trinkets etc: Incorporate these accessories that match the boho aesthetic to enhance the boho vibe of your wreath.
